CARRY A CAUSE

Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Posted by on

November is lung cancer awareness month. With over 200,000 cases per year, lung cancer is the leading cancer killer in the U.S. amongst both men and women. It’s common knowledge that its most common cause is smoking, causing 80-90% of new cases. However nonsmokers can get it too. A few examples of its other causes are second hand smoke, radon gas, and asbestos. Also, a familial history of lung cancer greatly increases your chances of getting it. The best ways to prevent lung cancer are to not smoke, stop smoking, exercise regularly, and eat a diet rich in fruit and vegetables. To help raise awareness we can share lung cancer facts on social media all November.
